My practice is currently focused on treating the following needs: -Pregnancy & Postpartum including cesarean scars, uterus/bladder visceral manipulation -Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) -Post-surgical scars, including lymphatic drainage -TMD aka. jaw dysfunction/pain -nervous system regulation

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy in BC is defined as the assessment and treatment of soft tissue and joints of the body, and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction, injury, pain and disorders of soft tissue and joints of the body by manipulation, mobilization and other manual methods.

Alternative Medicine

Energetic healing that supports the body by focusing on moving stuck energy; it is a practice for physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing. It is a clothed treatment, and can be performed with hands on, or hovering above, the body.

Reiki is "spiritually guided life force energy". Shannon has trained in Reiki Levels 1, 2, Master and something unique called “Psychic Reiki”.

Shannon has been working with the human body since 2009, initially as a reiki practitioner followed by holistic massage and bodywork training in 2011. With a desire to learn more about the human body, Shannon pursued her RMT training in 2014.

During RMT school, Shannon became passionate about musculoskeletal anatomy, fascia, pregnancy massage, headaches and temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD).

Since becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, Shannon has completed continuing education in:

  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
  • Scar tissue management
  • Postpartum care including post-cesarean section treatment
  • The female pelvis, including assessment and mobilization of the uterus and bladder
  • Myofascial release/mobilization
  • Cranial-Sacral therapy
  • Visceral manipulation
  • Thai-MASHiatsu or “Mashing” (treatment using the practitioner’s feet)
  • and more

Thus, Shannon’s approach to treatment includes conventional massage therapy techniques as well as non-conventional approaches, and is customized to the unique needs of each patient that arrives on her treatment table.

Her mission is to provide exceptional therapy that allows for physical and mental relief resulting in an overall increase in health and happiness.

She is passionate about supporting pregnant and new mothers with massage therapy, information sharing and education, encouragement of self-care and self-advocacy.

Shannon is currently accepting new patients at Bellies Community Space in Pitt Meadows.
